Lunch today consisted of a delicious piece of bread and some Flan, which unfortunately sums up many of my cheap/on the go meals here. Luckily an amazing meal of lentils and rice by my host mom rounded off my day so there is hope of a healthy Peruvian diet.
After El Sol we cabbed it to the FAP school and returned to our first English class. There we taught the students about the American education system and compared it to the Peruvian one. It was very interesting to learn about the differences, and it was also eye opening to see our lives through their eyes. As we talked about tuition and the other costs of going to Northeastern it most likely made us seem like millionaires to the students who can buy lunch for under $2 and probably live in small apartments near the school.
Next we had another lecture on Peru where we reviewed Peruvian independence and also learned about the geography and natural resources of the country. It turns out that Peru has 85 different climates within its relatively humble borders, mainly because of the varying altitudes of the Andes. As a result the flora and flauna of the country is varied and the country is also mineral rich.
Kat and I wandered around Miraflores between FAP and our trip to Parque de la Reserva and we went to the revered Wong supermarket, where I was set on buying chocolate but decided against it after receiving a free sample. Next we went back to our now favorite Mexican place where Kat tried the interesting quesidilla/burrito combo that a group of us fell in love with on Tuesday. After dinner we met others in our group to go to Parque de la Reserva, home of the illustrious "Magic Water Tour."
Once we arrived we wandered between the fountains before the start of the 7:15 show. Unfortunately my camera cannot seem to fully capture fountains, and as a result my pictures are quite terrible, but the fountains and show were astounding to see. The show consisted of dancing fountains, music, lights/lasers and even using one of the fountains as a projector screen for dancing images. The show lasted approximately 30 minutes and after we explored the other interactive fountains which you can walk through.

Lessons Learned:
- Churros are so good and I'm sad that my first experience at Costco has kept me from them for so long. More to come!
- This weekend is 'Dry' because of the election on Sunday, this means no alcohol will be sold from Thursday to Sunday.
- My PB search is turning futile: at Wong's it was S./17! The highest price I've found yet!
