Today we had our last day of school at El Sol. A bittersweet ending that was a bit more bitter due to our weekly test. However I have thoroughly enjoyed both my classes and can only hope that my teacher in Cuzco is as nice, understanding, helpful and interesting as Andres has been.
In culture we started learning about the Incas, which has sufficiently made me excited to go to Cuzco and see Machu Picchu among other things. Let out of class early Tyler and I indulged in a pizza craving and tried out the Las Pizzas Bar, which was less than satisfying, but will do for now. After I met Kris and Amy at the Inca Market for more souvenir shopping over the span of 3 hours, although I didn't end up buying anything.
After it was back to El Sol for my 2nd Salsa class followed by a fiesta to celebrate the end of our weeks there! Dancing, talking, and a VERY late dinner at 10pm was followed by helado from the corner store and a return home to my comfy bed!
Lessons Learned:
- The term 'chino' here is used to refer to anyone with small, Asian-looking eyes. I find this odd but my teacher swears it is true. It is also not offensive in any way and pointing out different features isn't mean at all.
- Letmewatchthis.ch may just be the best website ever! Use putlocker or Megavideo!
- Star Wars R2D2 is known here as Arturito, aka Little Arthur, because Spanish-speakers who heard his name didn't understand that his name was an abbreviation.
