Cuzco: Amauta School and Comprando!!

It is FREEZING here at night and in the morning.  Although we were warned I was still absolutely freezing last night, and evidently very tired as well.  After we moved 2 beds into a bedroom to make a triple (decided we might as well live it up sleepover style), Kat and I climbed into our beds and fell deep asleep in full clothes without brushing our teeth, washing our face or dinner.

Woke up at 6:45 or so and decided to brave the cold and shower.  A freezing decision but worth it I suppose, after we took a taxi to school we were put into class with our new teacher, Angela from Spain.  Although I can't understand a word she is saying (the Spanish 'th' lisp), she seems nice enough and it should be good for me to get adjusted to the Spanish way of speaking.

After both classes we left to go find lunch at 12:30.  Rachel braved a vegetarian restaurant with me where we got a S./ 4 meal of soup, entree, salad and juice.  Not the best food but so hard to find Veg. food, and so cheap that I'll probably return!

We then went on a huge shopping trip where I got some gifts and a new sweater!

More shopping followed but now we are at McDonald's for wifi access for homework.  Tonight we have a dinner at a nice restaurant and then will return home for a freezing sleep!

Lessons Learned:
  1. You have to let the water literally trickle to make it warm in our house.
  2. Warm banana+milk juice is just the thing to warm you up in the morning.
  3. I don't feel anything from the Coca tea that is supposedly just the thing to cure your altitude sickness.
  4. Ollanta won the presidency, 50.1% to Keiko's 49.9%

  1. Banana-milk?? I LOVE banana-milk. If it's the kind I think you're talking about anyways.
